The Ultimate Fuzion is a beautiful blend of functionality, livability and interior design. (Check out the video below for a full tour.)
It is roughly based off of a 2024 Keystone Fuzion 425 but radically altered to fit exactly what Cortni (owner of The Flipping Nomad) wanted out of her own version of a 425.
Some of the highlights of the Ultimate Fuzion are a residential bathtub, built in nugget ice maker, dishwasher, hidden appliance garage, doggie door to the side patio and a projector TV.
It was also a full overhaul from a systems standpoint too.
Normally RVs have air conditioners on the roof, but we wanted to reimagine that. Roof air conditioners are loud, energy-hogs and don’t cool the space very well. The forward thinkers of the industry are moving to residential mini split air conditioners, and we jumped on that band wagon. We removed the roof air conditioners and went with mini splits mounted in the basement. They draw less than half of the electricity, cool the space better and they are silent! They’re literally quieter than a fridge running. Amazing!
By removing the roof air conditioners, we had even more room for solar panels. There are 22 panels, each are 220 watts for a total of 4,840 watts. Those panels feed the Battle Born batteries and are operated by the Victron components. The system was designed and installed by Future Solutions in Elkhart, Indiana.
Custom was the name of the game with the Ultimate Fuzion, even down to the windows. One of the biggest sponsors the Ultimate Fuzion has is Lippert Components. They built the Ultimate Fuzion a full set of custom windows that have a square glass look on the exterior but still have the radius cutout that RVs need for structural reasons.
Not only is the Ultimate Fuzion a show piece, but it also serves a very special purpose. In 2022, we closed our shop in the Austin, Texas area after falling out of love with the region. Instead of rushing into our next home base, we decided we wanted to spend ample time in the town before committing. We said “lets take our tools with us so we can keep working while we look”. Since both Ultimates have been Cortni’s (owner of The Flipping Nomad) full time home, the garage of the Ultimate Fuzion became the new “mobile shop”. All the tools we need to do custom renovations for clients live in the Ultimate Fuzion’s garage. The garage also houses Cortni’s Lectric ebike that she uses to scout boondocking sites before taking this big rig down random dirt roads.
The Ultimate Fuzion is 45 feet long with 3 slides and 2 patios. It weighs right at 19,000 pounds dry, but that includes the 1,400 pounds of solar. Its gross weight rating is 24,000 pounds giving it a true 5,000 pounds of carrying capacity.
